Thank You!

Thank you to all our families for helping us have a great year in Readiness Kindergarten!

We wish you a safe and fun summer!  READ, READ, READ!  Write, Write, Write!  Count and use numbers all summer!  Talk about rhyming words and talk with children about different things you are doing.  Go on some fun adventures to the park, or a swimming pool, to the zoo, camping or fishing-draw and write in your summer journals.  Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Hunter!

Today we celebrated Hunter's birthday as he'll be 6 on May 30.  He shared cosmic brownies and juice pouches with us for snack today.  Thanks Hunter and we hope you have a great day!

Reading with Mrs. Larson

We enjoyed one last story time with Mrs. Larson last Thursday.  We have really enjoyed having her come to read to our class each month

this year.  It is always a special treat when she comes!  Thank you!

On Friday, May 22, our friend, Ayden, turned 6.  Happy Birthday!  Thanks for sharing your birthday cake with us!  We hope you had a great day.

Wrapping up our Animal Teeth project!

Today we were the readers in the library and Mrs, Hellmich was the audience!  Since she helped us check out books to research our different animal teeth, we made our own version of the book What If You Had Animal Teeth and shared our pages with her!  We did a great job reading our pages.  Our book pages will be coming home tomorrow to so be sure to ask us to share them with you!

Today we enjoyed watching some of our 4th grade friends from Mr. Swanson's room share their Rumpelstiltskin Reader's Theater with us!  Thank you!

Carmen is our Star of the Week!

Celebrating Ayden as Our Star of the Week

This week we are celebrating our friend, Ayden as Our Star of the Week!

Happy 6th Birthday, MaKayla!

On Tuesday, May 5, we celebrated with our friend, MaKayla, as she turned 6!  Happy Birthday and thanks for the birthday treats!  We hope you had a great birthday!

Making an animal clinic in our classroom

After visiting Holmes Animal Clinic earlier in April, we decided it would be fun to make our own animal clinic in our classroom.  We thought about all the different things we saw Dr. Jeff and Tammy use to check and take care of animals teeth.  We worked in groups to make different things.  One group was interested in making an X-ray machine and computers to look at the X-rays.  Another group made a cage for the animals.  We also had a group make the large light for over the exam/surgery table.  We had others making signs and different items to sell, such as dog and cat toothbrushes, dog collars, special animal toothpaste and shampoo.  We decided to get out our doctor kits and see what items we could use from them as well.  We have been enjoying playing in our "E-hawk Vet Clinic" the past few days.  We are taking turns being the customers with pets, Vets and their assistants.  We also had several students make up fun names for their new careers!  We hope to have many more fun learning experiences in our animal clinic!

Celebrating Carmen's 6th birthday!

Our friend, Carmen, turned 6 on Thursday, April 30.  We were so lucky as she brought yummy treats from Dairy Queen to share with all of us.  It was a great treat for our afternoon snack after we were hot from playing outside!  Thank you, Carmen!  We hope you enjoyed your special day with us!

Fun measuring our animal teeth!

We had fun Friday afternoon measuring our animal teeth!  We chose several different items to use to measure with, such as rulers, yardsticks, tape measures, unifix cubes, linking chips, straws, string and even ourselves!

We had a great time working together and then put our teeth in order from longest to shortest.  Marshaun's elephant tusk was the longest and Caylee's bat tooth was the shortest.
