We read the story Snowman at Night and then created our own snowmen at night. We used different materials such as paper, paint, chalk, crayons to create our pictures. Our snowmen are busy at night!

Journaling
Here are some of our journal entries from this past week! We had to draw and write about animals in winter and we had a free draw day. I can't wait for Parent Teacher conferences in March to share your child's journals with you! We have gotten to be quite the artists and writers!

Learning about animals in winter with Mrs. Patton
Mrs. Patton visited our classroom on Friday, January 16th. She shared the Jan Brett story classic, The Mitten with us. We were able to take turns putting the different animals in the mitten. We also enjoyed the chance to touch a real fox and badger fur. We looked at an owl talon up close. Check out how big the mitten got with all the animals inside!
Mrs. Larson reads with us!
Mrs. Larson was our guest reader on Thursday, January 15. She does a great job reading with the students! Remember to let Mrs. Deitering know if you are interested in being a guest reader in our classroom. We will work around your schedule and would love to have you!
Fun from the week of January 12th

Christmas Celebration!
We enjoyed the movie this morning with all of our West Elementary friends. It was so fun to see the theater packed. Thank you PIE group and the Hoyman family for sponsoring this event!
We also had a fun afternoon! We were sad to see Joey the Elf have to leave to head back to the North Pole. We enjoyed having him visit our classroom! We were so excited that his note said that if we ate a kiss, we could give him a quick pat on the head or back before he left. We also enjoyed opening presents from our teachers and a special pizza snack!
